Man kills mom, stepdad, then self

A depressed overseas job applicant stabbed dead his mother and stepfather and seriously wounded his brother and stepsister and then killed himself in San Pascual, Batangas yesterday morning.

Police said the suspect, Uriel Malabanan, 23, had been disheartened over his attempt to get a job abroad.

Probers said Malabanan used a kitchen knife to attack his mother, Rosa, 50; stepfather Diego Dimaunahan, 60; brother Angelo, 16; and stepsister Desiree, nine.

Neighbors rushed Angelo and Desiree to the Bauan Doctors Hospital in Bauan town.

Police said Malabanan stabbed himself 26 times.  – Non Alquitran, Ed Amoroso and Arnell Ozaeta
