New Antipolo mayor sworn in

Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno swore into office Vice Mayor Danilo Leyble the other day as the new mayor of Antipolo City, following the death of Mayor Victor Sumulong from a lingering illness last Jan. 6.

Second district councilor Lorenzo Zapanta also took his oath as the city’s new vice mayor.

Puno, who was a former congressman representing Antipolo’s first district, vowed to help realize the plans and programs for the city of Sumulong, who had been his close friend since their school days at the Ateneo de Manila University.   – Cecille Suerte Felipe
