3 NPAs killed in clash
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Three New People’s Army guerrillas were killed while 10 others, including three Army men, were wounded in an encounter on Mt. Balali in Bamban, Tarlac last Saturday morning, a report from the regional police command at Camp Olivas here said.
Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde, regional police operations and plans chief, said men of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Brigade led by 1Lt. Randy Asuela clashed with some 40 rebels for 15 minutes in Barangay Anupol.
With the Yuletide season approaching, Albayalde said police units all over the country are on “heightened alert to preempt any untoward incidents and terrorist activities.”
Meanwhile, police reported that a quantity of shabu was found buried along the shoreline of Barangay Butas na Bato in Dingalan, Aurora last Thursday.
Dingalan policemen dug up the contraband following a tip from an informant, near the Pinky Hizon’s Beach Resort where a shabu laboratory was busted last August.
Police have tagged spouses Teresita and Ito Aguilar, and a certain Joey de los Santos and Alexander de Guzman in the shabu lab. All four are still at large. – Ding Cervantes, Ric Sapnu
