2 suspected CPP members nabbed
DAGUPAN CITY – Two suspected members of the Communist Party of the Philippines were arrested by joint police and military operatives in a checkpoint before dawn Friday in barangay Bolo, Labrador, Pangasinan.
Reports gathered at the Pangasinan PNP provincial office identified the two suspects as Margie Lupo Navia alias Roja, secretary, front committee 42 of the Komiteng Probinsiya (Komprob) Quezon of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee of the CPP, and her husband, Donato Palo, alias Ka Rojo commanding officer of the Probinsyal Yunit Gerilya of Komprob Quezon.
Police Senior Inspector Gaspar Dacpano, Labrador chief of police, said the two were arrested in a checkpoint in the said barangay.
Dacpano said they received orders to conduct the said checkpoint with the military.
He said the two were on board a colored white Toyota Revo.
The two suspects were arrested by virtue of multiple warrants for murders, and a string of robbery and rebellion cases, report gathered said.
Dacpano said that the duo were on their way to Dasol town in the western part of Pangasinan where they claimed to visit their relatives.
He said the two were brought to the 3rd Intelligence Service Unit of the Philippine Army based in Tarlac. – Cesar Ramirez
