Slain drug pusher tagged in shooting of law student

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police said the suspected drug pusher who was killed in a shootout with law enforcers in Antipolo City, Rizal last Monday was the one who shot a female Ateneo law student in a jeepney holdup in Cainta town last Aug 6.

Chief Inspector Pamela Helaga, speaking on behalf of the Calabarzon police, said the slain suspect, Orlando del Rosario, 29, of Angono, Rizal, was gunned down when he allegedly fired at policemen who were going to bust him for drug dealing along M. H. del Pilar street in Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City last Monday morning.

Aside from drug dealing, Helaga said Del Rosario was also involved in robberies and holdups in the region.

Witnesses positively identified Del Rosario as the one who shot Ateneo law student Tara Santellices, Helaga said. – Ed Amoroso
