Ecija cop charged for death of Japanese

A Nueva Ecija policeman was charged for his alleged participation in the robbery and killing of a Japanese national in Cabanatuan City last week.

SPO1 Francisco Catabas, assigned to the Headquarters Support Group of the Nueva Ecija police, was charged along with a still unidentified companion, with robbery with homicide before the Cabanatuan City prosecutor’s office for the killing of 51-year-old Akiyu Kuwahara.

Senior Superintendent Ricardo Marquez, Nueva Ecija police director, said witnesses tagged Catabas, who is still at large, as one of two men who robbed and shot Kuwahara in the head. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
