ZAMBOANGA CITY – Combined police and military intelligence operatives captured an Abu Sayyaf, tagged to be involved in the beheading of 10 Marines during last’s year attack, in a raid in Lamitan City, Basilan, according to a ground police commander Monday. Lamitan City police commander Chief Inspector Christopher Panapan identified the captured suspect as Sali Dungkal Alih alias Salim who is carrying the reward of P500,000 based on the joint memorandum of the Department of National Defense-Department of Interior and Local Government (DND-DILG). Alih, a follower of Abu Sayyaf leader Furuji Indama was cornered by elements of the Lamitan police and members of the Philippine Army 9th Intelligence Service Unit on Friday about 7:30 p.m. along Quezon Boulevard in Barangay Matatag. – Roel Pareño
