Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna – Police are now on alert status after the Laguna vice-governor’s 32-year old sister-in-law was allegedly abducted by two unidentified men while in front of a computer school in Calamba, Laguna Friday morning, police said.
Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas, Jr., Laguna police director identified the victim as Jocelyn Hernandez, resident of Lizardo Compound, Barangay Mayapa, Calamba City and a sister-in-law of Laguna vice-governor Ramil Hernandez.
According to SPO4 Filipina Manaig, women and children desk investigator said Hernandez was accompanying her daughter Aizel, 12 years old, to enrol at the Asian Computer College located also in Barangay Mayapa when two unidentified men approached them at around 9:00 am.
Witnesses said, armed with knives, the suspects demanded for the victim’s handbag but the latter refused prompting the suspects to punch her in the stomach until she lost consciousness in front of her daughter. Subsequently, the suspects dragged her inside a waiting tricycle and escaped toward Barangay Batino, leaving the young Hernandez behind.
In an investigation made by the authorities, Aizel was able to describe one of the two suspects through a cartographic sketch which is now a subject of a manhunt operation.
Police however have yet to ascertain the true motive of the abduction pending further investigation. – Arnell Ozaeta
