-

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Ski mask-wearing and heavily armed men carted away the P3.098-million payroll of the provincial employees of Apayao Tuesday, police said.

Superintendent Arni Emock, spokesman of the Cordillera police, said three female government employees were on their way to Cabugao when four armed men blocked the path of their Mitsubishi Pajero driven by one Danilo Balican in Barangay Lenneng.

Three of the robbers were armed with M-16 automatic rifles, and the fourth, with a caliber .45 pistol.

Police were still clueless on the midday robbery. – Artemio Dumlao
