256 barangays in Region 12 flood-prone

KORONADAL CITY – Of Central Mindanao’s 1,194 barangays, 256 were found prone to flooding, according to the Mines Geosciences Bureau’s updated geological hazard assessment of the region’s four provinces, four cities and 45 towns.

Citing the report, MGB-Central Mindanao regional director Constancio Paye Jr. said the 256 barangays are highly prone to flooding.

Sixty-three of these Region 12 barangays are in South Cotabato, 104 in North Cotabato, 61 in Sultan Kudarat, and 28 in Sarangani.
