Police nab carnappers, drug pushers in Calamba

BIÑAN, Laguna – Police arrested three carnappers, including the leader of the dreaded  Atienza gang and nine drug pushers during a series of anti-criminality operation here, yesterday.

Police Superintendent Mafelino Bazar, Biñan police chief, presented to Biñan Mayor Marilyn ‘Len Len’ Alonte-Naguiat, the arrested suspects identified as Jona­than Atienza, tagged as the leader of the gang, with his two cohorts, Alejandro Almeria and Junar Emeterio, both residing in Calamba City.

Bazar said the gang was responsible in a series of carnap­ping activities in Calabarzon. They are also suspected as suppliers of shabu and marijuana to various street users from different barangays in Calabarzon.

But, Atienza denied the accusation by the police authorities. Police recovered from the gang one motorcycle when they were nabbed along Mana­bat St. in Barangay San Antonio.

Moreover,  Alonte presented to media the nine arrested pushers  identified as Gerardo Villa­nueva, Roger Bagasbas, An­thony Pia, Arturo Sanchez, Tomasito Morales, Danilo Alon­te, Santiago Lacap, Omie Bunyi and Aida Manaebo, who  were captured during a series  of buy-bust operations in Baran­gay Malaban, Canlalay and San Antonio, all located in Biñan, Laguna.     – Ed Amoroso
