Three kids perish in fire

ILOILO CITY – Three kids perished in a fire in Barangay Kaingin in La Paz district yesterday morning. The Bureau of Fire Protection is still investigating the cause of the fire that destroyed three houses and damaged one at around 6 a.m. yesterday.

Arson investigator, Senior Fire Officer 2 Antonio Patinio Jr. said the fatalities were six-year-old Vincent Aligoro, his five-year-old brother Christian, and their youngest, Ron-Ron, three years old.

BFP investigators recovered the charred bodies of the fatalities inside the house of their grandmother, Nenita Caba­luna. Patinio said that the three kids may have been sleeping when the fire broke out and were eventually trapped when their house was engulfed by flames. Initial investigation showed that the fire started at the ground floor of the house of Cabaluna. As to what caused the fire is still “under investigation,” Patinio said.

The fire also caused an estimated P250,000 worth of damage to properties.  – Ronilo Ladrido Pamonag
