Police rescue underage laborers

MEYCAUAYAN CITY – Police rescued 11 persons including a minor and five females who suffered unfair labor practice from factory owners here on Friday.

Superintendent Ritchie Posadas, head of the Criminal Investigation Detection Team (CIDT-Bulacan) identified the victims as Manuel Dilao Jr., 13; Rene Omag y Hautea, 20; Jungi Alparas y Efundo, 19; Melbert Villaruel y Benibile, 19; Jessie Manbunga, 19; Roland Gervilo y Jegovia, 25; Hasmin Malabago y Landiza, 19; Lovely Joy Maguinto y Tibulong, 20; Nelia dihayco y Diva, 34; Nilda Villarin y Laya, 29; and Marites Guiron y Pongauatan, 25.

The victims were all working at Chrisel Arts and Prints Enterperises owned by spouses Benedict and Elizabeth Tan, located at Barangay Sto Niño here.

Police were able to rescue the victims after they swooped down the compound around 3 p.m. on Friday. – Dino  Balabo
