Reward set for arrest of judge’s assassins
CAMP KANGLEON, Palo, Leyte – Chief Supt. Abner Cabalquinto, Eastern Visayas police director, confirmed yesterday that private citizens in coordination with the Philippine National Police have offered a half-million peso reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the murder of Calbayog City Regional Trial Court Judge Roberto Navidad last Jan. 14.
Police said concerned citizens raised the reward money to arrest the mastermind and the gunman who shot Navidad while he was inside his parked car in Calbayog.
Navidad had just boarded his black Nissan Patrol with license plates TPL-911 and was about to start the vehicle’s engine when the gunman attacked the judge at around
Witnesses told police investigators that after shooting the victim, the suspect ran and escaped at nearby Barangay Balud, also in Calbayog.
