British national found dead inside bathroom

- Ben Serrano -

BUTUAN CITY – Another British national was found dead this time lying in his own pool of blood inside the comfort room of the foreigner’s rented home at Spanish Road, Ceniza Heights Subdivision, Barangay Washington, Surigao City Wednesday late afternoon.

Belated reports reaching this writer who urged the Caraga Police Regional Information Office to produce police official report on the incident following rumors that another foreigner was killed, Surigao City cops identified the victim as Peter Terence Hoy, 52, married and a resident of said place.

Caraga Police did not include in their daily press releases to media the latest killing incident involving another British national.

On Dec. 8, 2007, the charred remains of a British missionary David Brash, 62, a Baptist doing missionary work in the Philippines was unearthed in a swampy area of Purok 7, Sitio Lucahon, Barangay Tagapira, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.

The gruesome killing of Brash believed to have been tortured before torched to death is still unsolved as no warrants of arrest were issued yet against the suspects, according to Butuan City Police Barangay Libertad Station Commander senior Inspector Reynante Ngoho Sibayton who is handling the case.

The Surigao City incident involving another British national according to a police official report was a suicide incident.

But also in the said official report, it was not comprehensively explained why the British national committed suicide as there was no note left by the victim before he allegedly ended his life.
