Rizal town cop chief accused of molesting male prisoner
The police chief of Jalajala town in Rizal is facing an investigation for having allegedly sexually abused a male inmate several times last month.
Chief Superintendent Ricardo Padilla, Calabarzon police director, said he is awaiting the recommendation of the Rizal police command on whether to relieve Jalajala police chief Inspector Ian Reyes from his post or not.
“We are still determining the circumstances surrounding the case. But the thing is, the police officer allegedly sexually abused the male inmate several times,” Padilla said.
Padilla, however, said the inmate might have fabricated the complaint to “get even with Reyes.”
Sought for comment, Reyes refused to return repeated calls and text messages.
Padilla did not give the Rizal police command any deadline to finish the probe on the complaint.
Sources at the provincial police headquarters said it was not the first time that Reyes was involved in a controversy, recalling that months ago he was accused of beating up a policeman and molesting a policewoman.
