1,098 cops in Region 1 to receive promotions

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – For doing their jobs well, a total of 1,098 police personnel from the four provinces of the Ilocos region will get their promotions.

Chief Superintendent Leopoldo Bataoil, regional police director, said he has made the recommendation to Camp Crame in recognition of the outstanding performance of his men in “enforcing laws, winning wars, and touching people’s lives.”

He said the candidates for promotion passed the screening and evaluation process conducted by the Regional Promotion Board on the qualification standards on education, training, eligibility and experience set by the National Police Commission.

According to Bataoil, 736 PO2s are due for promotion to PO3, 268 PO3s to SPO1, 27 SPO1s to SPO2, 33 SPO2s to SPO3, and 34 SPO3s to SPO4.

The Region 1 police command has been a back-to-back winner of the Best Police Regional Office award, while four of its units have been named finalists in a nationwide search for the best police units.
