MALOLOS CITY – Three men including an alleged notorious carjacker in Quezon City and a robbery gang leader were arrested in separate police operation in Bulacan on Monday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent Allen Bantolo, the acting provincial police director of Bulacan identified the suspects as Cesar Poso y Ancheta, 31, of Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City, and Jessie Sangcap y Mendoza and Joelet Sakamoto, both of Baliuag, Bulacan. Sangcap is the leader of the notorious Sangcap robbery-hold-up gang that operates in Bulacan.
Police said that Poso carjacked a Ford Everest (RBS-627) owned by a certain Jose Hercules Paasa, that was parked unattended along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City on Monday around 1:40 p.m. Paasa immediately reported the incident and the police sent a flash alarm.
Bulacan police were conducting a routine operations against organized crime groups along the MacArthur Highway in Balagtas town when they received the alarm. Minutes later, they monitored the stolen Ford Everest in Balagtas town. Investigation showed that the suspect admitted he was about to deliver the stolen vehicle in Malasiqui, Pangasinan.
In Baliuag town, local police foiled a robbery attempt on a gas station and arrested two of six suspects, also on Monday afternoon.
Superintendent Albert Ocon, the town’s police chief said they were tipped off by a confidential informant that the Sangcap robbery hold-up gang planned to rob the Shell Gas Station at the corner of the Benigno S. Aquino Avenue and the DRT Highway in Barangay Tangos. Ocon immediately formed a team and proceeded to the vicinity of the gas station.
Minutes later, four men on board a Honda XRM motorcycle (3471-CC) and Suzuki 125 (RV-2898) came followed by a heavily tinted Mitsubishi Adventure (CPJ-451).
