MEYCAUAYAN CITY – A three-year-old boy was killed by his stepfather yesterday morning after he pooped on his bed.
Superintendent Demosthenes Felix, city police chief, said the suspect, Christopher Valenzuela, 20, was arrested after his neighbors accused him of being responsible for the death of his stepson, Gilbert Varona.
Police said two of the suspect’s neighbors heard the boy crying at around 7 a.m. One of them asked his wife to check it out.
Moments later, they said they no longer heard the boy crying and at around 10 a.m. children in the neighborhood said Gilbert had died because he was punched on the abdomen.
This prompted the suspect’s neighbors to inform the police about the incident.
Police said Valenzuela was enraged when the boy pooped on his bed. The boy bore bruises and fingernail marks on the back of his neck.
Police are readying homicide and child abuse charges against Valenzuela.
