NLEX bus robbers strike again

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Four unidentified armed suspects, including a woman, robbed last Saturday an air-conditioned passenger bus at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Meycauyan, Bulacan.

Senior Superintendent Allen Bantolo, officer-in-charge of the Bulacan provincial police, said the Five Star bus, driven by Albert Ramos, was on its way to Dagupan City when it was attacked at the NLEX at around 8:25 p.m.

Bantolo said the robbers who were armed with handguns announced the heist after one of them fired his gun into the ceiling of the bus.

The armed suspects divested all the cash, cellular phones and jewelry of the passengers including the bus fare from the bus conductor.

One of the suspects, then ordered the driver to exit the expressway at the toll gate in Marilao, Bulacan.

Bantolo said the suspects then alighted at the Marilao toll gate and commandeered a tricycle that was parked nearby and escaped.

He said the suspects were alleged members of the notorious robbery group known as the San Felipe Gang based in Caloocan City.
