Sandigan suspends Bulacan mayor

The Sandiganbayan’s first division has ordered the suspension of the mayor of Norzagaray, Bulacan for 90 days while it is hearing a graft case filed against him.

The anti-graft court issued the order against Mayor Feliciano Legaspi last Nov. 8. 

Once the order becomes final and executory, the secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Bulacan governor will have to carry it out and notify the court of the serving of Legaspi’s suspension.

Legaspi is facing charges for violation of Section 13 of Republic Act 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
