COTABATO CITY – Suspected New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas killed a newly proclaimed barangay councilman and a village watchman in Makilala, North Cotabato the other night, police said.
Inspector Ramel Hojilla, Makilala police chief, said the victims, Roger Mazo, newly elected councilman of Barangay Malasila, and tanod Errol Usop, were on board a motorcycle when they were fired at with M-16 and M-14 assault rifles.
Barangay Malasila is a known NPA stronghold. – John Unson
