2 male salvage victims found in ravine along Baguio roadside

- Artemio Dumlao -

BAGUIO CITY – Two male bodies of still unknown identities were found dumped in a 15-meter bushy ravine along the roadside in Barangay Outlook Drive, some 200 meters away from the Presidential Mansion House here yesterday morning.

A startled resident walking along the road noticed the two pairs of feet of the duo from the bushy and grassy ravine by the roadside at around 7:45 a.m., police investigators of Station 3 led by Chief Inspector Elmer Cereno said.

The duo almost lying on top of each other, were believed to have been dumped in the dimly lit roadside, which police claims, is a favorite spot for dumping unsegregated wastes by residents.  One of the victims bore several wounds on his back from a knife while the other one suffered at least nine ice pick wounds also on his back.

Both bore strangulation marks on their necks, crime scene investigators of the Baguio City police said.

Both were wearing clothings but one who did not have a shoe on bore a “Sigue Sigue Commando” (SSC) gang tattoo on his back, thus raising more speculations that the duo might have been victims of extra-judicial execution.

SSC is an infamous jail gang whose members are alleged street criminals like muggers, robbers, pickpockets, cellular phone snatchers and the like.

Last week, police said, another male body was found along Ambuclao Road, an infamous dumping area of alleged victims of summary killings, bringing to three the number of salvagings since last week.

On July 17, Baguio residents were startled when the headless body of Kapangan town native Ringo Abraham, a known street thug, was found in Tuba town, Benguet. Police said the victim was killed somewhere else and only dumped there.
