Gas tank explosion rocks Manila's financial district

MANILA., Philippines (AP) - A cooking gas tank exploded in a restaurant near a shopping mall in Manila's financial district Friday, injuring several people, police said.

The blast rocked the restaurant in Makati, near the busy Glorieta shopping complex, said metropolitan Manila police chief Geary Barias.

Witnesses told radio stations they saw bloodied people being helped out of the restaurant and carried away in ambulances.
