Mañana habit cost of last minute election filing

-

DAGUPAN City - It's still the Filipinos' mañana habit that led aspirants for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections to come in the last minute to beat the deadline of filing of certificate of candidacy in various election offices in Pangasinan.

Lawyer Reddy Balarbar, provincial election supervisor of Pangasinan, told The Star that based on his monitoring in the 44 towns and four cities of the province, their election offices were overflowing with candidates rushing to file their COCs.

"As usual, hindi matanggal ng mga tao yang mañana habit na yan," he said. Mañana habit is basically procrastination or putting off for tomorrow what one can do today.

The filing of COC started last September 29 but many candidates opted to file on the last day, Balarbar said.

The campaign starts tomorrow until October 27. Election is on October 29.  Eva Visperas
