Dignitaries from the Italian government barnstormed parts of Maguindanao today to inspect designated sites for proposed agricultural projects.
The team led by Italian Ambassador Rubens Anna Fedele met with local leaders and assured their government's support to the Southern peace process, which is being complemented with various humanitarian projects by the European Union and other foreign donors.
Fedele and his companions toured Datu Saudi town, where Italy plans to put up post harvest facilites, solar mechanical grain dryers and other equipment for local farming communities.
A similar project costing P400 million is also being planned by the Italian benefactors for the town of Malabang, Lanao del Sur. John Unson
