MANILA (AP) - Philippine shares climbed Monday, led by property and mining stocks, ahead of third-quarter corporate earnings results.
The 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index rose 37.18 points, or 0.96 percent, to 3,861.38, after losing 0.3 percent Thursday. Markets were closed for a holiday Friday.
"We're in a consolidation phase and now await corporate earnings due in the new few weeks," said Astro del Castillo, managing director at First Grade Holdings.
