Cops recover stolen vehicles near prosecutor’s rest house
Anti-carjacking police authorities recovered four suspected stolen vehicles hidden within striking distance of a resthouse owned by a Tarlac City prosecutor in Bamban town.
The recovery Friday afternoon of two Honda Civic, a Nissan Urvan and one Mitsubishi Strada at Sitio Gumain, Barangay Lourdes, Bamban town raised some eyebrows because the place is just a stone’s throw from the resthouse of Prosecutor Claudio Dayaon.
Reports reaching the office of Philippine National Police-Traffic Management Group (PNP-TMG) director, Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad showed that initial investigation revealed two out of the four vehicles have tampered license plates.
Joint elements from Camp Crame-based anti-carjacking agents headed by Chief Inspector Allan Macapagal, and elements of the Tarlac-based Criminal Investigation and Detection Group swooped at the said place based on reports that the area near Dayaon’s resthouse is being used by lawless elements to store stolen vehicles.
