Four crack police teams were dispatched to the interior towns of Laguna and neighboring provinces to get the principal suspect in last Thursday’s ambush-slaying of the vice mayor of Lumban town.
Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas Jr., Laguna police director, said the five-man teams were out to serve the warrant of arrest to the suspect, Luisito San Juan, a gun-for-hire also reportedly involved in drug pushing and highway robberies.
Rojas said the teams are combing the hinterland barangays of Laguna, Batangas and Quezon where San Juan reportedly went into hiding after gunning down Lumban Vice Mayor Zaldy Raga in Pagsanjan town last Thursday.
“My men have staged six raids since last Friday but they went home empty-handed,” Rojas said.
