Palace scoffs at 'would-be impeaches' at House

Malacañang is not worried over the latest impeachment complaint filed against President Gloria Arroyo.

Earlier, lawyer Roberto Pulido had filed a complaint against the President and endorsed by Congressman Edgar San Luis of Laguna over the cancelled $329-million contract with China’s ZTE Corp.

Press Secretary Ignacio R. Bunye said on Saturday, "It is a waste of the people’s time and money. We are confident that the people will support continuity and reform."

"Instead of dabbling in a lost cause, her detractors should follow the President’s lead for sustained growth and global competitiveness," Bunye said.

He added, "We therefore urge this isolated group of would-be impeachers to cut the petty grandstanding and join us instead in the people’s business of moving the Philippines forward."
