Senator Ramon 'Bong' Revilla, Jr. Thursday said the apology given by ABC Network on the slur against Filipino doctors on their television series, "Desperate Housewives" is not enough.
Revilla said in a statement, "The apology is not enough. It is not commensurate to the damage created by the derogatory remark made by the show."
"The makers of Desperate Housewives should formally and publicly express their apology in their next episode to signify sincerity. The mere sending of an apology through media bureaus would not heal the wound it inflicted to Filipino medical practitioners and the Filipino nation in general," Revilla said.
He added that the degrading piece of dialogue should be erased for future airings and other reproductions of the episode.
"It would also do well if the show's producers, as an expression of sincerity, consider other means of making up to the Filipino medical community," he warned.
