PNP chief admits providing security for Neri at home

Philippine National Police director General Oscar Calderon admitted Wednesday that they have deployed policemen to the Quezon City home of former socioeconomic chief Romulo Neri.

However, Calderon denied the deployment was for surveillance on Neri but for his own security.  He refused to elaborate on the reason why except to say "there was some trouble."

Neri, who is currently the chair of the Commission on Higher Education, is testifying before the Senate hearing on the controversial National Broadband Network project.
