GMA accepts political affairs adviser's resignation

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Friday has accepted the resignation of her presidential advisor for political affairs.

Press Secretary Ignacio R. Bunye said in a statement the President had accepted with regret the resignation of Secretary Gabby Claudio.  Claudio had earlier undergone a complicated spinal surgery which will require months of rehabilitation.

"The President thanked Secretary Claudio for his invaluable service," Bunye said, adding that she has named National Security chief Norberto Gonzales as a temporary replacement.
