SAN FERNANDO, La Union – A police task force probing the Aug. 6 gunslaying of the woman municipal treasurer of Bauang, La Union is trying to unmask the mastermind who goes by the codename “C4.”
“The codename cropped up in the information gathered by our investigators and they are now conducting a deeper investigation to find out the real identity of (C4),” said Senior Superintendent Franklin Bucayu, La Union police director.
In a briefing yesterday, Bucayu told the provincial board members that “C4” is the alleged employer of Rogelio Ordoña, the alleged triggerman in the killing of Bauang treasurer Felicidad Picar, and the supposed financier of other killings and bombings in the province.
Bucayu said Ordoña is also facing charges for the killings of Serapio Dacuycuy, a school principal in Bagulin town, and Rogelio de Vera, a political adviser in Agoo.
Ordoña, he added, was also charged with frustrated murder for the attempts on the lives of Leonardo Camat, a security guard, and Alfredo Wallit, an employee of the Department of Agrarian Reform.
Ordoña pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in the Picar case last Wednesday.
The codename “C4,” according to an investigator, seems to show how powerful the person is, as it refers to a common type of a military plastic explosive.
Meanwhile, Picar’s daughter Christine went personally to the Commission on Human Rights’ regional office here yesterday to submit a manifesto appealing for justice for her mother.
