6.6 quake in Atlantic, north of Brazilian coast: USGS

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck hundreds kilometers (miles) off the northern Brazilian coast on Monday in the Atlantic Ocean, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake was located 1,455 kilometers (910 miles) north of Belem, in northern Brazil, at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), the USGS said in a statement.
There were no immediate warnings of a possible tsunami as a result of the tremor from the US National Weather Service's tsunami center.
