Quake rocks Taiwan

TAIPEI (AFP) - An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted Taiwan on Thursday, the central weather bureau said, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The tremor struck at 08:55 am (0055 GMT) and was centred 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) southwest of southern Taitung county at a depth of five kilometres.
Taiwan, which lies near the junction of two tectonic plates, is regularly shaken by earthquakes.
