MANILA (AP) - A concrete wall of a building under construction in suburban Manila collapsed Thursday, killing one worker and injuring 15 others, police said.
The worker's body was pulled out of the rubble of the low-slung building that collapsed in Paranaque. Police did not know how serious the injuries were of about 15 people brought to hospitals for treatment.
Some radio news reports placed the death toll at six.
Paranaque police chief Superintendent Ronald Estilles said workers were trying to put trusses on a wall, which suddenly collapsed shortly before noon.
The one-story building was being built to house a construction materials store, he said.
