Special poll slated today in Lanao town

LANAO DEL NORTE – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is holding a special election in Pantar, Lanao del Norte today after a mayoral candidate demanded the reconstitution of the voters’ list.

Pantar town has 7,848 registered voters in at least 36 polling precincts in 21 barangays.

Contesting the mayorship are Bobby Alingan (UNO) and Nolanie Limbona (Lakas-CMD) who substituted for her husband Exchan who had been disqualified.

Joint forces of the Provincial Mobile Group and the Army’s 32nd Infantry Battalion are securing the special balloting. – Lino de la Cruz
