2 kidnap suspects fall in Cavite

Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna – Two suspected members of a kidnap-for-ransom gang were arrested by the Regional Special Operations Group in an entrapment operation in Bacoor, Cavite last Tuesday, police said.

Superintendent James Brillantes, RSOG-Region 4-A chief, said the suspects, Marjum Macam, 36, and Eliza Baluyot, 43, were nabbed after they had contacted two kidnap victims to redeem their cellphones for P3,000 each.

The kidnap victims were snatched by eight armed men from their houses in Bacoor last July 14. They were divested of cash totaling P116,500, cellphones and jewelry, and then dumped in a gasoline station along the South Luzon Expressway in Sta. Rosa town hours later. – Arnell Ozaeta
