CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A massive manhunt operations was launched yesterday by the Pampanga Provincial police against the suspects in the slaying of Barangay Chairman Mario Nulud of Guagua, Pampanga.
Police have earlier identified the two suspects as Willy Montemayor, the alleged gunman, and Roger Esteban, driver of the getaway motorcycle. The two were allegedly members of the Rebolusyonaryong Hukbo Ng Bayan (RHB), a breakaway group of communist rebels.
Murder charges were filed before the Provincial Prosecutors Office at the City of San Fernando against the suspects.
Meanwhile, Chief PNP Director Gen. Oscar Calderon, who arrived on Friday here for an emergency conference following the alleged spate of killings in Pampanga.
The PNP chief told Gov. Ed Panlilio who also visited here, that he will be given more PNP personnel for his security as he has been receiving death threats since the campaign period.
Nulud was gunned down by two-motorcycle riding armed men in front of his house in Sitio San Juan Bautista, Betis, Guagua, Pampanga, Monday.
Chief Superintendent Ismael Rafanan, PRO3 director, said he has given Task Force Nulud one week to arrest the Nulud’s killers.
