MALOLOS CITY – The Pampanga Police Office created yesterday an investigating panel aimed at easing speculations on the real motive surrounding the slaying of Barangay Captain Mario Nulud in Guagua town on Monday.

Senior Superintendent Keith Singian, Pampanga provincial police director, created “Task Force Nulud” upon the instruction of Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad, Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the Regional Police Office 3.

Singian designated his deputy,  Senior Superintendent Rosvi Manulid to head the task force.

The Task Force will be augmented by seasoned investigators from the Pampanga Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) led by Superintendent Noel Caligagan.

Singian said the task force will take charge of the comprehensive investigation over the killing of Nulud, the leader of Barangay San Juan Bautista in Guagua town.

Reports claimed that Nulud is a staunch supporter of Pampanga governor-elect Fr. Ed “Among” Panlilio. He was gunned down in front of his house by two unidentified motorcycle-riding men.

Reports said the killing is a political vendetta but authorities claim they are merely hearsay.

“This is the objective of the task force to correct all speculations that were reported in the media,” Singian said.        – With Ric Sapnu
