BUTUAN CITY – Police are locating the re-elected vice mayor of Jabonga, Agusan del Norte to shed light on the shooting of his wife after they had an argument in their home last Saturday morning.
Vice Mayor Danny Moran, who is on his third term, and his wife, Maridel, reportedly fought over the former’s alleged illicit affairs with other women.
Some police investigators, however, claimed that Moran was cleaning his caliber .45 pistol when his wife attempted to get it, leading to the accidental shooting.
But other probers believed otherwise, thus they wanted Moran to surface and shed light on the shooting. Moran’s wife sustained a gunshot wound in the arm.
Chief Superintendent Antonio Dator Nañas, Caraga police director, said the couple had an argument over marital problems.
Nañas said he hopes the police could locate Moran since charges have already been filed against him.
“We will eventually get him even though he is a newly elected official because of the crime he has committed,” Nañas said.
But Moran’s relatives claimed Maridel was no longer interested in pursuing the charges against her husband.
