Hagedorn turns over P1-M bounty

Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn turned over to the National Bureau of Investigation yesterday the P1-million cash reward for four witnesses who helped the police arrest the suspected triggerman in the April 5 killing of local election assistant Petronilo Amorin Jr.
The four witnesses and their families are now under NBI custody and will be placed under the witness protection program.
The suspect, PO1 Alfredo Carandang, was reported to be a police bodyguard of retired police general Eduardo Matillano, who is challenging Hagedorn’s re-election. – Evelyn Macairan and Theo Agcaoili
