ILAGAN, Isabela – The mother of the woman from this province’s central town who gave birth to quadruplets at a hospital in Tuguegarao City last month is appealing for assistance in paying the hospital bills and other related expenditures incurred for the delivery of what is believed to be the country’s second set of quadruplets.
The mother and her babies had already left the hospital but the family is finding it hard to meet the daily expenses and still owes the hospital P120,000.
Last month, the quadruplets’ mother, Grace Lucas, 25, gave birth through caesarean section at the Church-owned Saint Paul Hospital in Tuguegarao City. The newborn quadruplets, were named Mary Hannah and Azumi (females), Jheremiah and Ashely (males).
"We are in dire need of help for the care of the newborn babies since they still have to undergo numerous examinations in addition to the expenses we already incurred," their grandmother said.
The father of the quadruplets, a Japanese national, had reportedly abandoned their mother during the early stages of her pregnancy. It was also reported that he has his own family in Japan and has allegedly expressed no interest in extending assistance to the quadruplets. – Charlie Lagasca
