“I will bring my anti-jueteng crusade in this battle. There are many things that need to be reformed in my hometown,†Mayor, an incumbent barangay chairman, told The STAR in a phone interview Saturday.
Mayor, 51, who testified on jueteng payola, said he would join the Genuine Opposition, and would get in touch soon with Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, one of the top opposition leaders, to discuss his political plans.
Mayor also sounded off his vice mayoral bid to Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz, chairman of the Krusada ng Bayan Laban sa Jueteng (People’s Crusade Against Jueteng) and the Krusada ng Bayan Laban sa Sugal (People’s Crusade Against Gambling). Mayor sits as a director of both groups.
Mayor said he would run without a mayoral running mate though it would be good if the opposition would field a mayoral bet in tandem with him.
