CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Regional Special Operation Group (RSOG) has summoned the mayor of Rizal, Cagayan to shed light on the claim of nine armed men arrested in a checkpoint in Biñan town that he had sent them on a killing mission.
Senior Superintendent James Brillantes, RSOG chief, said they expect Mayor Raul de la Cruz to be here on Wednesday after receiving the summons from Chief Inspector Jesus Kabig–ting, RSOG operation and investigation chief.
"We want to hear his comment on the allegation of the nine suspects," he said.
Brillantes said they were also verifying information that two of the nine suspects are among Cagayan Valley’s most wanted men and that a number of them have pending murder cases.
The suspects yielded high-powered firearms and military uniforms when their van was stopped at a checkpoint in Mamplasan, Biñan town last Tuesday night.
Police said the group was on their way back to Caga–yan after they allegedly failed to find their target in Laguna.
