Ozamiz City Region 10s most wanted criminal and three of his cohorts were arrested Thursday in a raid at their safehouse in Tambulig town Misamis Occidental.
Senior Superintendent Erwin Villafuerte, Philippine National Police (PNP) provincial director, said the suspects did not resist arrest when members of the Provincial Regional Mobile Group led by Inspector Mauro Garay swooped down on their safehouse in Barangay Sumalig.
Seized from the suspects, identified as Ricardo Uy, alias Halap, Romeo Pabataw, Gary Santos and Anita Sarsaba, were a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .38 pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, a M16 Armalite rifle and a hand grenade.
Villafuerte said Uy, a suspected hired killer, is facing murder charges for several killings, including a police officer. He is also a suspect in several bank robberies in Cebu and Manila and wanted for drug trafficking.
The suspects were being hunted by the police since the killing of PO3 Renzford Gamutin four months ago.
The cooperation of local officials and residents in Tambulig town helped in police in arresting the suspects, said Villafuerte.
