Ilocos cops lauded for solving reporters murder

CAMP GEN. OSCAR FLORENDO Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director Gen. Oscar Calderon lauded the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1), headed by Chief Superintendent Leopoldo Bataoil, for the immediate resolution of the Dec. 20 murder of Andres Acosta, a radio reporter of dzJC in Laoag City.
The suspects were identified as Nemesio Agbanaoag, Joseph Calzado, Adulf Calzado and Gilbert Taruboc. Murder charges were filed against them at the Provincial Prosecutors Office.
"I commend PRO1 investigators for their dedication in solving this case immediately even during Christmas and New Year, and the regional director and provincial director of Ilocos Norte for their personal supervision of the case," Calderon said in a statement.
Bataoil told The STAR that Acostas murder was considered solved because the suspects were already identified and the motive was established. Jun Elias
