Petron assures fuel supply in Bicol region

-
Amid the devastation left by typhoon ‘Reming,’ Petron Corp. assured Bicolanos yesterday that it would be able to supply their fuel needs.

The company said that it has been able to keep most of its service stations open in the area despite the power outage since its stations have generators.

Petron said that nine out of 11 service stations in Albay, which is the hardest hit province in the region, are operating and servicing the needs of the national and local government as well as the military for relief and clean-up operations. The company said that it was also serving the needs of motorists in the area.

The company, however, said that it is working to re-supply its two service stations in Tabaco, Albay, by sea since roads to the area are impassable.

"We wish to assure the public, especially those in Albay that we will be able to supply their fuel needs. We have enough product at the Pasacao depot in Camarines Sur to meet the demand," Petron public affairs manager Virginia Ruivivar said.

She added that all Petron stations in Metro Manila are serving as drop-off points for relief goods that will be sent to the Bicol region.

"This should make it easy for people to contribute to relief efforts in affected provinces," Ruivivar added.

Petron said it will also be giving out thousands of relief packs containing essential food items.
