Levy Laus, president and CEO of Clark Development Corp. (CDC) said Clark will soon become home to world-class racing events when the project is completed.
Laus and Kilton Motor Corp. (KMC), the countrys top racetrack developer, forged an agreement for the project last Thursday.
Laus said once KMC has completed its racetrack project inside CSEZ it will host various local and international motor sports activities, which is expected to draw millions of local and foreign tourists inside the ecozone.
KMC president Johnny Tan said his firm will infuse more than P28 million for the development of a 10-hectare international race kart track, which will be used for karting, drag and motorcycle race. It will employ initially about 35 workers.
CDC held another signing of agreement after the first area allotted to KMC was found to affect the future expansion of Diosdado Macapagal International Airport.
KMC owns and operates two race tracks in Cavite and Batangas the Carmona Circuit Philippines and the Batangas Racing Circuit.
The Carmona Circuit has a length of 1.02 kilometers while the Batangas Racing Circuit is 2.8 kilometers long equipped with motorsports facilities and amenities such as drag racing, circuit racing, karting, motorcross, road racing and slalom.
Tan said both racetracks, being operated by KMC, are accredited by the Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) under the Federation Internationale De LAutomobile (FIA).
KMC said that a similar FIA-standard race track will be constructed near the Clark Picnic Ground.
Motorsports and Leisure Products Division and Kart Plaza are also involved in the distribution of motor racing equipment, golf carts and other racing accessories.
Established in 1986, KMC is also engaged in selling and distribution of diesel, gasoline and electric powered equipment in the Philippines. KMC has steadily developed its product lines to better served its growing clientele and customer needs.
The racetrack, to be named soon as Clark International Speedway, will have FIA international standard design.
The race track will be completed in July this year where several local and international motor sports competitions will be immediately held to promote Clark as one of Asias top racetracks.
KMC is also among the firms that established kart tracks in the countrys famous theme parks Boomland near the Cultural Center Complex in Pasay City, and Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The international racetrack project is in line CDCs goal to develop Clark as the countrys famous sports-tourism destination that would complement the transformation of the Clark airport into a logistics hub.
